It feels like forever that we’ve been holding onto these photographs. Sometimes we’ll share a few previews and then put a full blog together at a later date but for some reason this one just felt like we should hold on to it, do it once, and do it right. So today on the blog is my first visit as a West Lexham Wedding Photographer for Lucy & Matt and one of the best days with a camera we’ve ever spent.
West Lexham is a glamping site. It has individual Yurts, treehouses, a swimming pool, an outdoor area to cook and relax and its nestled away in the Norfolk Countryside. It’s also a beautifully unique and relaxed wedding venue that played host to Lucy & Matt and their friends for a whole weekend earlier this summer.
If I ever get around to writing a book on how you should approach planning and enjoying a wedding these two would be my cover stars. Buckets of humour and a very funny sense of humour at that, love in abundance not only for one another but their family and friends and a looseness and care free attitude that saw them just laugh throughout their day with genuine warmth.
At various points through the day we got to see their friend dressed as a Vicar to perform their own ceremony, The Bake Off to end all bake offs including a singing Lionel Ritchie cake, inflatable doves, dance floor moves that were both astounding and hilarious and the single biggest laugh that either of us have ever photographed (Lucy, we’re looking at you)!
It’s not about styling or details, its not about being arty or pretentious, its just two people, stood together in front of everyone they care about making promises to one another that last for an eternity. I hope our photos caught the atmosphere of their day and just how much these two mean to one another, I hope we’ve done them justice because this level of Happy is hard to contain, they could bottle it and sell it to every glum faced soul out there.
Lucy & Matt, thank you. You were incredible, we love you guys. Wherever you are in the world right now on your travels I know you’re making the world a brighter, happier place just like you have done to us every time we’ve got to hang out with you. We really couldn’t be happier for you.
