Catherine & Daniel are awesome. Plain and simple. I get to do plenty of Wedding Photography In Kent but when I get booked to photograph a wedding a little further afield it always gets me excited as I love to photograph new places and go somewhere new. We first met Catherine & Daniel last Autumn in Oscar’s in York over a coffee to talk through their wedding plans, I’m going to give nothing away here but all I’m going to say is that it sounds fantastic and a whole load of fun!
They’ve put a huge amount of thought and attention into their celebrations from the glorious venue, the stunning Merchant Taylors Hall right in the middle of York city centre, to the amazing evening party they have planned. I’m biting my lip so hard right now but I promised I wouldn’t spill any more of the details!

Hannah and I lived in York for five years and during that time I developed my love for photography. Most weekends I’d hop in the car and travel up to the Yorkshire Coast. I’ve photographed this pier at Whitby so many times, at different times of year and in different conditions, but I’ve never had the chance to use it’s amazing curved lines for portraits. When Catherine told me that the first holiday that Daniel and her ever took was in Whitby I immediately suggested doing their Pre Wedding shoot there and then dropping down to Saltwick Bay also.

I’ve already said how cool they are, but when a couple want to take a quick break from the shoot to dive into their local independent record shop to try and hunt down the new album by The National I love it!

Best of all, both of them were giddy, funny, bursting with happiness and clearly completely in love and looking forward to their wedding day. I can’t ask for any more from a couple, they were an absolute joy to photograph.
