“Oh my god they’re amazing!! Thank you so so much, you guys were brilliant and we just saw you as 2 of our guests. Everyone has said how great you guys were and can’t wait to see the other photos. Thank you for looking after us as well during the quiet moments, you were like our confidantes! I really hope we cross paths again, I’m going to tell all my un married friends to book you and Hannah. Thank you so much for making it such a special day.”
– Tamara & Steve
Yesterday Tamara and Steve got married and it was glorious. Absolutely glorious. They are two of the coolest, funniest and sweetest people you could spend your time with and they genuinely didn’t stop smiling all day long. Fawley Hill Weddings are a pretty new thing as Lord & Lady McAlpine have only just renewed their license to hold weddings in their grounds but my goodness they’re awesome. A replica vintage train station complete with a Steam engine on the tracks, a carousel, gypsy caravans, it has the lot.
Tamara and Steve put the most important thing front and centre and that was to have huge amounts of fun with their best friends. There were no wedding favours, no sit down meal, no champagne toasts. In their place came street food trucks serving Fish & Chips and Nepalese curries, an Ice Cream Truck, Dotty’s caravan with tea and coffee, scones and afternoon tea plus an amazing Citroen van serving G&T’s by the tray full.
People mingled, people laughed, people hugged and people danced. Oh my, they danced, they danced their asses off. This is the second time this year that I’ve had the pleasure of photographing Paul Dobie do his very very unique thing and it was every bit as good as the last time. He’s an incredible act and I’ve never seen anyone get the crowd going like he does, jaw dropping stuff.
I said it before but it’s worth mentioning again, Fawley Hill is an incredible wedding venue, if you’re looking for somewhere truly unique then get in touch with them asap. These are just a handful of previews as they head off on honeymoon and there will be more to come later this year. For now here’s a little taster of their day…
