Malcesine is beginning to feel like a second home for me. With my first visit last year and already being booked to return next summer it’s an incredible place to feel at home in. No two weddings are ever the same though and Stuart and Sarah’s Lake Garda Wedding couldn’t have been more different. With just their parents, their brothers and sisters and their gorgeous little nieces and nephews they had the most intimate of wedding ceremonies on the rooftop of Malcesine Castle.
When you stand on the rooftop of the castle and look out at the view across the lake it takes your breath away. From the patchwork quilt of terracotta rooftops to the deep, clean, clear water of Lake Garda itself, right out to the towering mountains beyond. It’s a view to drink in for hours.
Destination Weddings are very different to UK weddings as normally you spend a lot longer with your couple than you would do for a UK wedding. Stuart and Sarah, Hannah and I spent hours talking over pizza and gelato in the days running up to the wedding so when the morning finally arrived I was probably just as excited as any guest! This is the story of their day, I think it’s pretty magical and I can’t wait to go back in 2014 for a completely new adventure. A big thank you to my gorgeous wife Hannah for second shooting and taking that killer final shot.

What a wedding, I’m sick with envy! Love the colours. Can’t quite believe I haven’t visited your site before Michael, I’ll certainly start visiting regularly.
Thanks Matthew that’s really kind. It was an amazing wedding to be a part of certainly.
Stunning work mate! That last shot is a beauty but I’ve got to say that shot of Stuart and Sarah waving to the speedboat is genius. That needs to be printed BIG!
