Serena and Andy’s wedding was so much fun that I couldn’t sleep when I got home, I just laid there grinning like an idiot for hours. Being their Leeds Castle wedding photographer for the day meant that I not only got to photograph the magnificent venue that is Leeds Castle but best of all got to hang around with Serena and Andy laughing, joking, and playing around all day.
These two are probably the most laid back couple that I’ve ever worked with. If I make a suggestion the normal response is a big grin, a shrug of the shoulders and a “yeah, why not” which means that photographing them is an absolute riot.
The look on both Serena and Andy’s faces when Hannah and I told them that we’d managed to arrange a little trip out into the moat on the punting raft for their portraits was completely and utterly priceless. They couldn’t have been more up for it and excited to get out onto the water, even in the sky high heels that Serena was wearing. We even got to wave at their guests up in the Maidens Tower as we paddled around the moat.
Leeds Castle is a beautiful gem of a venue steeped in history and the recent refurbishment to the Maidens Tower really shows, it’s certainly up there with the very very best wedding venues in Kent and the South East as well. There’ll be tons more of this on the blog in the next few weeks but for now here’s a little preview of their day…..

The boating shot is lovely and you use some great play of light from the sunset.
