We’ve been doing this for quite a while now, but every now and again a South East Wedding venue pops up and takes us totally by surprise. Both in the fact we’ve never come across it before and in terms of how completely lovely it is. A Wedding at The Pilgrims Rest is exactly that. The very definition of lovely.
Rebecca & Toby held their celebration their earlier this year and we just had a wonderful day. The Pilgrims Rest is an incredibly old and historic building and it felt like walking in amongst the pages of some of my old tattered Shardlake detective novels that I’ve been reading lately. Look out the lead lined windows and Battle Abbey looms over you, its nightly impressive and a phenomenal setting for a wedding. Better still, Rebecca & Toby had managed to get a little time in the Abbey ruins for us to create some portraits. Hannah and I could’ve shot there all day, there are angles and breathtaking light around every bend.
If you’re looking for a unique wedding venue in East Sussex then the Pilgrims Rest is pretty exceptional place to get married and we’d love to go back sometime. Here’s some favourites from Rebecca & Tobys day…
