Somewhere in the Kent countryside giraffes and rhinos roam alongside brides and grooms celebrating their wedding day. It wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to confuse the views with being on safari. Sure, I’ve never been on safari and this is probably the closest that I’ll get to it anytime soon but hey, Lions, Tigers, Antelope and Baboons all at one wedding venue, how amazing is that? This was my first time as a Port Lympne Wedding Photographer and it was a really special occasion.
Hannah and I are really close to Vikki & Dave as they are part of our extended family so this is a date in the diary that we’ve been anticipating for a long long time now. We’ve never really done weddings for friends and family before so this was really a special occasion. To watch my adorable niece and nephew walking down the aisle ahead of Vikki and my brother in law Lee was an incredibly special moment for me and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to meet Daves family and making some new friends at the same time.
I unashamedly find this profession I call a job an emotional one a lot of the time. I’m not exactly a blubbing wreck but nor am I made of stone and I pick up on big and small moments every week and that’s what allows us to make these photos. To be so close to Vikki and her father Dave as he saw her before the ceremony and was quietly awash with emotion was a real privilege for me. There’s nothing quite like the look of a proud father.
I know I’ve mentioned it already but Port Lympne really is a stunning venue for a wedding. We probably caught it at it’s absolute best on a gloriously sunny day with flowers in bloom all around. Vikki & Dave held their wedding ceremony outside on the terrace before later that day taking all of their guests on trucks out into the park on safari to see the animals.
To Vikki & Dave, the hugest of congratulations to you and all the very best for your future and have an incredible time away on your honeymoon! To anyone reading this who has already booked Port Lympne for their wedding, you really are in for a treat as it’s a tremendous wedding venue.
Here’s a few favourite frames from their day…
