Easily one of the highlights so far of our year, or any of our years for that matter was Lauren & James’s Wedding at Oxon Hoath. It was my first time as an Oxon Hoath Wedding Photographer and it’s a real hidden gem in the heart of the Kent countryside. Surrounded by fields with views in every direction, you’d never know it existed unless you stumbled across it accidentally. As it only hosts a small handful of weddings each year we felt massively privileged to shoot Lauren & James’s wedding, hopefully we’ll get to go back another time soon.
We’ve had these guys in the diary for seemingly ages. We initially met in a small cafe and whiled away a couple of hours talking through their plans for the day. James and I talked all thing music and technology and I bored Lauren to tears regaling her with every good book I’d read in over the last few years (more recently that’s turned into Podcasts too). Lauren works for a publishing house so is the best person I know for a quality book recommendation! Their home is wonderful with Laurens favourite books lining the shelves (colour coded, despite James best efforts) so when I walked into Oxon Hoath and saw the library I knew that we’d have to make some portraits in amongst all of the old bindings that day.
I could talk for pages about these guys. How generous they, how funny, how warm, how their families (particularly Lauren’s Grandma) are truly wonderful, kind people but I’m just going to let the story of their day unfold in the pictures below.
For anyone thinking of getting married at Oxon Hoath, get in touch with them, make time for a visit, it will amaze you and Im sure you’ll fall in love with it every much as these guys have.
Now for some photos…
