If we’ve said it once, we’ve said it a hundred times, we absolutely love a marquee wedding at home. To be able to do your own thing, design and shape your own day with no restrictions or considerations other than that of you, your friends and family is a perfect way to host a wedding. Claudia & Tom held their wedding in the fields behind Tom’s parents home close to Woodbridge with breathtaking views out over the Suffolk countryside for miles and miles.
There’s not a huge amount to say about this wedding, like all of the best weddings its simply the people that make it and this will easily go down as one of the highest of highlights of 2016. Claudia & Tom are warm, funny, very very funny in fact, hugely generous and are clearly a complete riot to be around judging by the many many friends and relatives that made the journey to be with them on their special day. As a documentary wedding photographer whether we’re somewhere huge and grand like Blenheim Palace, a country Barn or a simple, yet elegant wedding at home on the farm its largely irrelevant as our focus is always on telling the story of the day and the focus always falls on the characters and relationships that surround you.
We were treated to some of the funniest speeches we’ve ever seen including Tom being royally stitched up by his Best Man and Dad who arranged for his friends to come up and tell a few stories he’d much rather forget. I think Tom thought he was dodging a bullet by asking his Dad to be Best Man, his Dad clearly had other ideas.
To round out the evening we were caught up in a spinning whirl of traditional Romanian dancing, we really are incredibly fortunate to experience so many different cultures and traditions that become part of a wedding day in this job, its one of our favourite bits about being wedding photographers.
To Claudia & Tom, you guys are fantastic, thanks so much for having Hannah and I there to photograph you, we had a blast and are so glad you love the photos.
Here’s a little peek at their day…
