So this morning I’ve woken up, strolled down to the shore and eaten a little breakfast, strolled back up again, charged my batteries, sorted my memory cards, cleaned my lenses, ironed my shirt and taken a very long deep breath. Today is the day when I get to be a Lake Garda Wedding Photographer again and it is going to be incredible.

Last year I was fortunate enough to photograph Malcesine, Lake Garda for Sean & Mel’s wedding day. When Stuart and Sarah contacted me to ask if I fancied a return journey I leapt at the chance. I’d return to Lake Garda every year if I got the chance. Crystal clear emerald green waters surrounded by towering snow capped mountains with an old castle nestled in amongst the terracotta roof tops looking out across the water, as another photographer put it to me “It’s the stuff dreams are made of”.

Hannah and I have been here for a few days now getting reacquainted with the town along with quite a lot of pizza and gelato along the way and it’s more beautiful that I remembered. Last night we joined them for a drink in a bar before walking along the edge of the lake for a very laid back pre wedding shoot on the very eve of their wedding.

This afternoon we will join Stuart and Sarah for their intimate family wedding. Surrounded by just their parents and siblings, nephews and nieces on the rooftop of the castle before walking through the town to the old harbour and having a little pootle out into the lake on a boat to cool off. I can’t wait to document their wedding day and it will certainly be seen here on the blog over the next few weeks.

Roll on this afternoon…
