Jackson & Co Photography | New Years Eve Wedding
Man alive it feels like forever and a day since we blogged our Best Of 2014. In reality it wasn’t all that long ago it’s just that so much has happened since the start of the year and when you’re having fun, time just whizzes by. It would be all too easy to move on to the weddings that have already happened this spring and neglect what we got up to in the last few months of 2014, but we couldn’t do that, there’s just too much to show! We’re going to start by winding the clock back to Janine and Sean’s New Years Eve Wedding at the wonderful Kelham Island Museum in Sheffield.
Shooting a wedding on New Years Eve is something that we’d never had the opportunity to do before and having spent a little time with these guys we knew that we were in for a treat. The day began right in the heart of Sheffield at the cathedral with a full Catholic Mass ceremony, with candles and Christmas Carols and even a covering of snow outside, before heading back to Kelham Island for what was to be one of the very best parties we’ve ever been a part of.
Come about ten thirty that night the atmosphere was electric with people already on a huge high celebrating with the happy couple but also in huge anticipation of seeing in the New Year. When the band stopped playing, the clock struck midnight and the whole wedding just went crazy in a sea of shimmering confetti and bellowing voices singing as loud as they could!
We love the party. We always love the party. Unlike a lot of photographers we choose to stay late at most weddings, it’s not uncommon for us to be there for a couple of hours after the first dance as we love the emotion of everyone letting loose on the dancefloor and being right in the middle of it. As for having a New Years Eve Wedding I really can’t think of a better way to have started this year, it really kicked it off with a bang!
