“OH MY GOD!!! We’re absolutely blown away! We knew how good you were when we hired you, and were expecting a lot, but your previews have already surpassed that. They’re fantastic. Thank you so much for your calming influence, and for making our day even more amazing.” – Ali & Pete
Alison and Pete were married on Saturday and it was a complete delight. This was my first time as a Blenheim Palace Wedding Photographer so seeing the grounds and palace close up was absolutely jaw dropping, there are grand backdrops in every direction and if you can sneak away from the lovely, but possibly over zealous security team there are pockets of gorgeous light everywhere. For all the grandeur, the iconic vistas and historic monuments all I really want is a couple who are very much in love, cuddled up in a pool of light under an enormous sandstone archway and I’m as happy as I can be. The shot above is my favourite of the day and a frame that I know they love and will take them back to that moment forever.
Ali & Pete are both Dr’s and we’ve been lucky enough over the years to shoot a handful of weddings for medical professionals. I’ve no idea why but they seem to always be such a brilliant crowd, maybe its in the camaraderie they have for one another during medical school, maybe its their sense of humour under pressure or their caring attitude towards others but they’re always so much fun and a great great atmosphere with true friends celebrating alongside the bride and groom.
As is patently obvious, Ali and Pete looked absolutely tremendous, they were married in a small church close by in Woodstock by one of the best Vicars I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. He injected the ceremony with a real sense of joy and humour that is honestly too rarely seen in church ceremonies, he was genuinely thrilled that they had chosen to celebrate their marriage in his church and it was his privilege to host them and to do the honours as it were. More like him please! Upon arrival at Blenheim Palace we were treated to a quick pootle around the grounds in a vintage Austin before settling into the Orangery for the remainder of the day. It’s hard to put into words just how impressive Blenheim Palace is and I’m sure I’ll bring an extended blog post to these pages later in the year showing lots lots more.
The pictures tell the story of their day far better than I ever could with my clumsy writing so I will leave them to do just that. To Alison & Pete, you are two of the sweetest, funniest and kindest people we’ve ever had the honour to photograph and it was wonderful to be a part of your day, I know that married life is going to be excellent for you, have a sensational honeymoon.
Finally, a little thank you to Kate Park Events for organising such a stunning wedding that ran like a dream! To everyone else, here’s a handful of previews from their day, enjoy…
