If ever there was a wedding that encapsulates the fact that a good wedding is made from good people it’s Alex & Andrews. They held their Rustic DIY Wedding In Sussex at the beautiful Tythe Barn in Sullington. In the days running up to the wedding day they spent time hand crafting everything from the bar made from old pallets to the strings of bunting and metres and metres of festoon lighting. Come the wedding day they were surrounded by good friends and family and had the best day imaginable.
Winding the clock back to the morning at Alex’s Mums house I got to see probably the greatest delivery of any present to a bride on the morning of a wedding – a voucher for a Puppy! That’s got to be the best gift ever right?!
A special mention should go to the absolutely inspiring Father Derek from the church next to the barn who was one of the most welcoming and inspiring individuals you could wish to meet. Often we’re given a fairly frosty welcome by some Vicars as they feel that our presence can distract from the meaning of the day, with Father Derek he welcomed us in, made jokes and couldn’t have been cooler. With quotes from Martin Luther King Jnr and C.S Lewis he connected with the audience in a way that I’ve genuinely never seen before at a wedding ceremony.
I loved everything about this wedding and it’s relaxed feel from the morning to the packed dance floor that went crazy for a phenomenally good funk/soul band that night. Here’s a little taste of their day…
